Manny Pacquiao and Juan Marquez fight a big mismatch

September 30, 2011
Analyst is sensing another mismatch for Manny Pacquiao when the pound-for-pound king from the Philippines collides with Mexico’s Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12. At a 144-pound catch weight, Marquez will look sluggish against the fleet-footed Pacquiao. When we Marquez looks like as a welterweight, when he fought Floyd Mayweather Jr. at 142 pounds in 2009. Marquez is in for the worst beating of his career, perhaps a career-ending beating. Because of this, I think the Pacquiao vs Marquez fight will be a mismatch. Last May 7, Pacquiao scored a lopsided win over the aging "Sugar" Shane Mosley in a fight considered by most fight fans as "boring". As a ring tactician, Marquez gave Pacquiao two of his toughest career fights. The Mexican champion battled the Pacman to controversial draw in 2004. Four years later, Pacquiao defeated Marquez via a split decision. But Ring Magazine’s Michael Rosenthal pointed out that Pacquiao has already acquired size while retaining his speed and power. He said that this will play a big factor in the Filipino’s third face-off with Marquez.

Victor Ortiz, stronger after stumbling and criticism

August 19, 2011
At 24 years old, the Mexico-American Victor Ortiz arrives full of energy, joking with his companions to their training and steps into the ring, built in a warehouse in Ventura. At first glance, looks like any boy his age. The difference is that he is the new world champion in a month will face in the ring with one of the best boxers in the sport’s history. A month before that big commitment, youth, enthusiasm and energy are your best allies. On 17 September the Mayweather and Ortiz will face at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Mexican fighter will take on Floyd Mayweather, a man who has never lost a fight in his career. Ortiz is not the favorite for this event, in fact many cataloged this fight as a stepping stone for Mayweather to face the filipino Manny Pacquiao in a mega fight next year. "I the simple truth, the net, I think Mayweather is difficult to fight, not me. What do I remove? To me nothing. I’m going to destroy little by little, assault by assault, until the knockout, "Ortiz told TODAY in an exclusive interview that opened the doors of his concentration camp in Ventura. Few people are as Ortiz favorite despite being the welterweight champion and WBC challenger Mayweather. The stakes in Las Vegas do not lie: Mayweather is the favorite 7-1. However, ‘Vicious’ Ortiz feels good not being the favorite, for he has never had things in their favor on more important things in life. Do you think Ortiz can bring down Floyd this time? Then watch mayweather vs ortiz title match this September.

Ortiz will take Mayweather to war

August 15, 2011
Mayweather vs Ortiz will face each other on September 17, 2011 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KO’s) has already come up with a strategy to try and beat undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41-0, 25 Ko’s) in their fight on September 17th at a still to be determined venue. Ortiz, 24, says he’s going to take the fight to Mayweather and try to turn it into a war. This no doubt has been attempted before, albeit with weaker and smaller fighters than Ortiz. Juan Manuel Marquez and Ricky Hatton both attempted to take the fight to Mayweather and were easily beaten. The southpaw Ortiz is bigger and stronger than those guys, so perhaps he can take Mayweather’s hard pot shots and keep firing back to get inside on Mayweather. In an interview at the The Ring, Ortiz said “I’ll take him the same way I thought Oscar De La Hoya beat him, the way Jose Luis Castillo beat him, that’s take the war to his ass.” This would be more or less the same tactic that Ortiz used on beating former WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto by a 12 round decision in his last fight in April. Ortiz went right at Berto and forced him to fight a long and protracted inside ward where Ortiz was eventually able to beat Berto, but not before being knocked down twice. To Ortiz’s credit, he was able to get up off the deck on two occasions and put Berto down twice as well, and eventually wear him down. Watch Ortiz vs Mayweather Fight

August 10, 2011
After Mayweathers own 16 month layoff he faces a young strong southpaw. Many believe this is another opponent he cherry picked like the ones I have mentioned but I for one believe this is the best fighter he has ever faced. Not the biggest name but by far the best quality opponent. Not only is Ortiz young, strong, hungry, and physically bigger then Mayweather, he is a southpaw. People say Ortiz has no chance because you must have a jab to beat Mayweather. This is false and here is why. In order to beat Mayweather you must have a good left hand. As an orthodox you must have a good left jab, as a southpaw you must have a good straight left. It is Mayweathers shoulder roll style that exposes his face for a left hand. If Ortiz tries to beat Mayweather with his jab he is going to hit shoulder all day. With Ortiz’s style Mayweather is going to need his track shoes. Unluckily for Mayweather he is no longer young and since his first layoff he has become a flat footed fighter. Being flat footed is going to be extremely dangerous in fighting Ortiz. For all you boxing fans we know that Mayweather might not get hit too much but when he does he gets stunned and his opponents allow him to survive. Ortiz is not going to let him off the hook and he hits a lot harder than anybody Mayweather has faced. I bet this is really thrilling and we all can’t wait to watch Mayweather knock out Ortiz in this boxing event called Star Power: Mayweather vs Ortiz! See you all in September 17, 20110 and Watch Mayweather vs Ortiz fight Live! A free live stream will be available here on the event day. That’s for sure!

Floyd Mayweather Start His Sparring Sessions For Ortiz Fight

July 31, 2011

At the start of his training this month the controversial Floyd Mayweather Jr. began his intensive training face to face some of his sparring partners. His uncle-trainer, Roger Mayweather, proud to say that he beaten and bruised one his spartmate in the hands of Mayweather. His sparring partner was Kasiim Ouam a veteran, and a former champion 154 pounds. Floyd has been a professional for nearly 15 years and has been in bigger fights than the Ortiz duel. Roger confirmed that Floyd had been working with four other partners. I asked him if Lil’ Floyd has been putting a beating on them. Asked if the preparation for the dangerous southpaw has seen them do anything special, Roger played such thoughts down. In September 17, Mayweather vs Ortiz will foght for the WBC welterweight championship will be held at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada. According to the trainer, nothing changes in the training allegedly Floyd Jr. because I knew it would. The Ortiz vs Mayweather fight, dubbed as Star Power will be televised via HBO pay-per-view.
